If you're unfamiliar with the Kpop scene, I'll help you get in the know every week with some of my favorites. Kpop is short for Korean Pop and has become a worldwide phenomenon for good reason. Killer groups like BLΛƆKPIИK and BIGBANG have made top songs that are now listened to all over the world. With millions of followers, these popular Kpop groups have a major platform and a lot of people looking up to them. Although Kpop is usually referred to as just a music genre made up of Pop, electronic, hip hop, rock and R&B, it's so much more than that.
Kpop is culture. It is a beautiful highlight of the amazing aspects of Korean culture, which stem from the beauty and skincare, food, traditional clothes, music, the emphasis on family and respect, and the country's history. But Kpop, just like most things in the spotlight, has a dark side. There are a lot of perfect expectations surrounding the Kpop scene, glamorizing plastic surgery, image and the pressure of achieving perfection. But there are so many great aspects of Kpop and I encourage you to learn more about the Korean culture!
This week I'm bringing you my favorite Kpop group - BLΛƆKPIИK. BLΛƆKPIИK is a South Korean girl group - JiSoo, Jennie, Lisa and Rosé. Their album debuted on August 8, 2016 with a single album Square One, which held their first number-one song in South Korea, and their first number-one hit on Billboard World Digital Songs chart, Boombayah.

Their song DDU-DU DDU-DU emphasizes the groups unique color with oriental percussion rhythm and unique whistle lead sound added on top of a Trap beat.
Can we also take a moment to recognize that wild animals do not belong in music videos or in any entertainment. I'm planning on doing some research to see the story behind the fennec fox in the video. Even if he is considered a 'pet' and loves affection or is a rescue (which I doubt), it's just not a good example.
